Welcome, to the step-by-step tutorial of how to draw a cardinal, this is going to be a very simple drawing for you to trace. Before we move towards the tutorial you should be aware of some facts about the Cardinals. They called redbirds due to their color and sunflower seeds are a favorite of them.
Cardinals are the most renowned bird of Northern America, they are used as mascots by numerous sports clubs and the official state bird of 7 American states. They are also featured in numerous works of art and used as cartoon characters in numerous series.

How to Draw a Cardinal
Step 1: Draw an angled half-circle as given in the below illustration.
Step 2: Draw the bird’s tail with the use of 2 lines with zig-zag lines around them.
Step 3: Draw a wing in the middle of the semi-circle drawn. For this draw a long shape with curved lines.
Step 4: Draw a curve in the right top corner followed by a small dot-like circle within it and a triangular beak.
Step 5: For additional information draw 3 lines in the tail and 2 legs with 2 fingers as marked in the figure.
Step 6: Draw one branch below the bird which is further divided into 2.
Step 7: Draw one branch with 3 divisions.
Step 8: Draw borderline for green region and ground as shown in the figure below.
Step 9: Color with red your cardinal, tree branches with brown, sky with sky blue, and grass with green.
Draw cartoon Cardinal or Angry bird
Few cartoons shows cardinal bird as angry birds, they knows for the team work so are the cardinals. Teamwork is one of the reasons of use by sport clubs. Follow are the simple steps on drawing an angry bird.
Step 1:Make a large circle with a big mark little to the right of the diameter.
Step 2: Draw another semi-circle above the circle and a mark from the centerline in order to create beak.
Step 3: Draw 2 elongated objects on the top of the picture as in the below image and create a beak by connecting another line to it. Draw 2 inclined lines from the center mark as a shape for eyes.
Step 4: Draw 2 another angled line and make rectangular eyes. From the end of the beak draw a curve.
Step 5: Draw 3 tails on the back of the cardinal, 2 eyes below eyebrows, and 2 lines below it.
Step 6: Draw large circles around eyes and a curved line passing through the beak.
Step 7: Make the outlines dark with a marker or dark pencil and color the eyebrows black.
Step 8: Remove the unnecessary lines and guidelines, specifically drawn for the centerline.
Step 9: You can fill it red or keep it outlined. It’s your choice, see the image provided below.
